Adsorption of As and Pb by Stone Powder/Chitosan/Maghemite Composite Beads (SCM Beads): Kinetics and Column Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Adsorption kinetics of As and Pb onto composite beads synthesized with stone powder, chitosan, maghemite (SCM beads) weight ratio 1:1:0.5 were investigated in batch mode. Several kinetic models such as pseudo-first order model (PFOKM), pseudo-second (PSOKM), two compartment first (TCFOKM), modified (MTCFOKM) utilized to analyze the kinetics. Although had low specific surface area pore volume, MTCFOKM, one models, could predict most accurately because adsorbed at least kinds adsorption sites functional groups chitosan Fe maghemite. In both fast fraction (f1’) constant (k1’) for higher than those As. Therefore, equilibrium time (teq) was shorter that adsorption, indicating more affinitive SCM (especially maghemite). Column study a bed column reactor packed also conducted. For study, effect flow rate volume on removal efficiency investigated. Three Thomas, Adams-Bohart (A-B), Yoon-Nelson (Y-N) used fit experimental data breakthrough curves saturation time. Both Thomas Y-N appropriate. Conclusively, are suitable treatment from contaminated groundwater particularly effective removal.

The potential of spherical lignin beads as an adsorbent to take up Llysine from aqueous solution was investigated. The kinetic data were estimated by the pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order models. The mechanism of adsorption was also studied using the Boyd model and Webber’s intraparticle diffusion model. The equilibrium data were modeled by the Langmuir, Freundlich, and Dubinin-Radushk...

متن کاملMicrowave-Assisted Synthesis of kappa-Carrageenan Beads Containing Silver Nanoparticles with Dye Adsorption and Antibacterial Properties
In this work, we used a simple and totally green method for synthesizing silver nanoparticles using kappa-carrageenan as reducing and stabilizing agent. The beads were prepared in aqueous medium by microwave heating, and then followed by cross-linking with K+ cations without using any additional toxic and expensive chemical agents. The preparation method of the carrageenan-based beads is easy, ...
